About us
We are Indonesian-Dutch couple, married in 2002, resident of Utrecht - The Netherlands, have one spoiled dog named Milo and one "gonna be spoiled" baby Isabelle.
This webpage mainly is use to share our story and pictures to our family and friends. But of course we always welcome for new friends.
The idea of this webpage is to share our story and pictures to our family and friends.
Since Ira's Dutch language is far from perfect and Dimitri's Indonesian language is even worse, we decided to use English as the main language in this blog,
eventhough lately due to the laziness of Ira, Indonesian language seems to take over.
Please feel free to browse around and give us your comment.

Raiders of the Lost Arts: Serie 2: The Lesbians
Everyone in the world knows how liberal Dutch people is. But having statue of lesbians kissing sitting on the back of a dolphin in the middle of the pond in the park where people plays with their kids? That can only be find in this flat country. Errrgggghhh at least that how I think ...
On the defence it can be man and woman statue but I don't think so... and Dimitri doesn't think so either.
It can be found on the park behind where I lived... We always passing it when we took Milo for a long walk to the dog park, close to Lunetten.
Abit of flash back march 2005, it was snowing, I walked Milo through the park 'cos he likes to play with snow. The water was frozen so I let Milo walk on it. I was busy taking picture, i don't pay attention that Milo stepped on the thin ice and fell into the water luckily I still have him on the leash so I can pulled him back.
This picture is taken just few second before the fall.
Update on the birdman: it wasn't feathers, after looking at it closely, it might be muscles..... but it still looks like feathers to me... so I will still named him birdman

Raiders of the Lost Arts: Serie 1: The Birdman
This will be my first posting from series of pictures of "what so called" art in Netherlands. There are hundreds of them, found in the corner of big street or in pond or just stand alone in the side of the highway. Some are beautiful, some are weird, some are inspiring, some are understandable, some are make you think "what the heck is that?"
My first RotLA (Raiders of the Lost Arts) is the statue that can be found on the corner of Briljantlaan and Vondellaan, Utrecht, in front of the police office. I passed it almost everyday on the way to the station.
Since the first time I lay my eyes on him, I keep wondering about him. He is a naked man with feathers all over his body, well at least that's what I think. For convenience I always called him Birdman.
What is he actually? Is he supposedly a guardian? that's why he stand in front of the police office.... kind of "to protect and serve" thing? In that case why is he naked... and what is the deal with the feathers all over.... still a mystery to me....
I tried to find out the name of the artist who made him but result is zip. Nothing on google too... anyone can enlighted me?
Closer look of the birdman, pictures taken with my mobilephone camera so the result is not that good.

34
Yep.... that's how old I am since today... quite old, huh! But young inside .. don't feel much different than last year when I was 33 except those extra 4 kg .... my resolution for these birthday is to lose that damn 4 kg hehehe.. wish me luck!!!
I got birthday kiss from Dimitri on 12 am and again when we just woke up.... First thing I did after woke up was to open gift I got from Amelia and Hanna. They gave the gift last week when I was still in Surabaya and they made me swear not to open it before 3rd April. I've been a good girl I don't even take a peek. From them I got beautiful summer bag and some batik.
Beautiful bag from my best friends in Surabaya
Anyway, today is also first day back to work after 4 weeks in Indonesia. Surprise... surprise when I arrived work, I saw beautifully wrapped gift waiting on my table. Thank you guys.... I really don't expecting it.
this is what inside, some make-up stuff, some bath-spa, treatment for nails etc
Best of everything is bucket of flower from Dimitri. Why I say it's the best... because this time he remembered to buy flower. When it come give flower or surprise, Dimitri is the most un-romantic husband in the world. He prefers to asked me what I want for gift instead of buy it himself and surprise me later. He always say that he prefer to give something that I really want instead of guessing want I want... hehehe totally unromantic..... but I love him anyway. He did surprise me couple of time with his sudden romanticness
The gift that I picked my self, 1 set of dvd "24" season 4
I feel blessed!!! Not mention all the sms, e-card and regular card from Rode Kruis, my in-laws, all oom's & tante's of Dimitri. Thank you... thank you
